Julie Pigott is a self-taught artist. After working for 15 years in the advertising industry in London and New York, a long felt desire to express her own artistic talents began to emerge.

An inspirational trip to Hawaii and California in 2002 was the catalyst for her to start painting. Once the creative valve was opened, many years of deeply stored emotions and experiences came flooding out onto paper.

And the painting continues.. it is her way of engaging with and making sense of the world around her. Her love for watercolour remains for its wonderful fluidity and freedom of movement.

Her inspiration comes from mother nature’s constantly changing ways as well as observations around the complexity of human nature. Her style is predominantly narrative.

She particularly enjoys the challenge of private commissions. By capturing an insight into an individual’s characteristics and surroundings enables her to produce truly unique and personal artwork.

She hopes the images will inspire the viewer’s own imagination and evoke them into a deeper understanding of the inspirational, healing and transformational nature of her work.
